Dr. John C. Hill - Pastor
Dr. Hill was saved on April 23, 1972 at the Skyway Baptist Church outside the city of Maxton, NC. In July of the same year, Brother Hill gave his testimony pubicly for the first time. It was during a Youth Meeting where there was singing and others testifying about their love for the LORD JESUS. The following year, 1973 he entered Tenn. Temple Bible School located in Chattanooga, TN; where Dr. Lee Roberson was pastor for over 40 years.
After finishing his studies in January 1978. Preacher John went back to his hometown (at that time) Laurinburg, NC to start a church. The Liberty Baptist Church was started and he remained their pastor for a year and a half. Brother Hill was then called to High Point, NC to the Emmanuel Baptist Church to be the Assistant pastor. After another year and a half, he left Emmanuel and served as songleader and youth man at Pine Grove Baptist Church, under Brother Buddy Fox.
In 1981 Brother Hill received the call to pastor Bethel Baptist Church in High Point, NC and he served them for 3 1/2 years; leaving only to go to Southside Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC. where he stayed for another year and a half. It was the good pleasure of the people (some of them) that he leave on September 11, 1985.
In July of 1986 Brother Hill received a call from the Hughes Grove Baptist Church in Thomasville, NC and has been pator ever since July 6th when he was voted in. Dr. Hill received his D. D. degree about two years ago and has in the past taught in a local Bible Institute (for 5 years) and preached many revivals and special meetings; from Memphis, TN, to Kentucky and different parts of NC.
